To whom it may concern, Delta Air Lines Inc. ("the Company") inadvertently mailed the Form 8868, Application for Extension of Time To File an Exempt Organization Return late. The Company, generally files two extensions for the Northwest Airlines Group Medical Trust Form 990 to allow time for the audit and Form 5500 to be completed. The Company, received the IRS notice CP211C dated June 30, 2014 informing the Company that the Form 8868 was not approved, because the postmark date was later than the return due date. The Company does not have a history of excessive noncompliance and the Company is not aware of any previous noncompliance penalties for the Northwest Airlines Group Medical Trust. Upon receiving the IRS notice the Company filed the Form 990 as soon as reasonably possible and has implemented new procedures to ensure that this error does not occur again. For these reasons the Company asks the IRS to not assess any late filing penalties, all consideration given would be most appreciated.
