What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? It was formed for the purpose of promoting the common business interest of its members, namely structural engineers in the State of Oklahoma, and to improve the business conditions of the structural engineering trade in Oklahoma, by facilitating the transfer and exchange of information among structural engineers, encouraging the practice of quality structural engineering, and providing continuing education for structural engineers.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 The State of Oklahoma and most other states require that professional engineers obtain fifteen hours of continuing education every year in order to maintain licensure. OSEA assists structural engineers in obtaining their required continuing education credits and to maintain competency in their rapidly-changing field, by conducting seminars on various topics in continuing education twice each year, at OSE s spring and fall conferences. More than 200 engineers attended the spring and fall conferences.
