	THE ORGANIZATION REPRESENTED APPROXIMATELY 1980 TEACHERS FORM LA JOYA SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE TEACHERS WERE REPRESENTED AT THE LOCAL, STATE, AND NATIONAL LEVEL WITH THE GOAL OF OBTAINING BETTER SALARIES, BENEFITS, AND WORKING CONDITIONS FOR ITS MEMBERS. THE ORGANIZATION HAS HELD SEVERAL CONFERENCES AND MEETINGS WITH ITS MEMBERS TO KEEP THEM ABREAST OF ANY DEVELOPMENTS IN THEIR WORK FIELD. TWO MAJOR MEETINGS ARE HELD DURING THE YEAR TO PROMOTE AND INFORM THEIR MEMBERS OF NEW DEVELOPMENTS.
