	In 2013, the Alliance for I-69 Texas (the Alliance) supported the official interstate designation and signing of 144 miles of roadway as I-69. The Alliance supported landmark state legislation that will provide voters the opportunity to vote on a constitutional amendment in November 2014 to allocate $1.2 B in new funding to transportation. Furthermore, the amount of new funding that will be provided based on the constitutional amendment is expected to increase annually as oil and gas revenues increase. The Alliance encouraged continued funding of I-69 projects, bringing the total funding allocated by TxDOT to I-69 to over $742 million. The Alliance worked with US DOT and members of the Texas delegation to ensure that I-69 is included in the designation of the National Freight Network. Finally, during 2013,the Alliance was instrumental in the formation of the I-69 Congressional Caucus which will comprise all the states along the I-69 route stretching from Canada to Mexico and will help garner additional federal support for the development of I-69.
