THE LANCASTER COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SERVED LANCASTER COUNTY RESIDENTS IN 2013 BY PROVIDING FUNDS FOR COMMUNITY BENEFIT ORGANIZATIONS (NOT-FOR-PROFITS) AND PROGRAMS THROUGH ITS "EXTRAORDINARY GIVE" PROGRAM, ITS "AH-HA INITIATIVE" PROGRAM, AND ITS OVERALL "GRANTMAKING" PROGRAM. THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDED A TOTAL OF $5,611,314 IN TOTAL GRANT DOLLARS TO COMMUNITY BENEFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN 2013. 57% OF TOTAL GRANT DOLLARS, OR $3.2 MILLION, WERE INVESTED IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH THE "EXTRAORDINARY GIVE," A ONE DAY ONLINE GIVING CAMPAIGN AIMED AT BOOSTING PHILANTHROPIC GIVING IN LANCASTER COUNTY. THE PROGRAM INCLUDED COMMUNITY DONATIONS OF $2.9 MILLION WITH A STRETCH POOL OF $250,000 AND AN ADDITIONAL $50,000 IN GRANT PRIZES FROM THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION. 260 COMMUNITY BENEFIT ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVED FUNDING AS A RESULT OF THIS PROGRAM.14% OF TOTAL GRANT DOLLARS (20 GRANTS), ENHANCED BY ADDITIONAL EXPENDITURES IN NON-GRANT ALLOCATIONS AND EXPENSES, WERE INVESTED IN THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION'S MOST PROMINENT AREA OF OPPORTUNITY, THE "AH-HA PROJECT," WHICH INCREASES FINANCIAL STABILITY AND QUALITY OF LIFE BY PROVIDING LEADERSHIP, CONNECTING PEOPLE AND IDEAS, AND INVESTING IN CREATIVE SOLUTIONS TO REAL PROBLEMS. 29% OF TOTAL GRANT DOLLARS WERE INVESTED THROUGH ITS GRANTMAKING PROGRAM TO COMMUNITY BENEFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN THE FORM OF 264 GRANTS.
