What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE IS TO ENHANCE, ENCOURAGE AND FOSTER COOPERATION BETWEEN ALL ENGINEERING AND LAND SURVEYING COMPANIES ENGAGED IN ESTABLISHED PRIVATE PRACTICE IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY, TO ESTABLISH A CODE OF PRACTICE AND ETHICS AS TO THE CONDUCT OF THEIR BUSINESS AND TO MAINTAIN THE STANDARDS OF THE PROFESSION, PROTECTING THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND PROMOTING THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF OUR STATE. THE ORGANIZATION SERVES APPROXIMATELY 70 MEMBER FIRMS/INDIVIDUAL PRACTICES.

28 THE ORGANIZATION HOLDS A MONTHLY CHAPTER MEETING AT WHICH VARIOUS TOPICS RELATED TO FOSTERING COOPERATION AMONG ALL REGISTERED CIVIL ENGINEERS AND LICENSED LAND SURVEYORS IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY; ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING A CODE OF PRACTICE, ETHICS AND PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS, AND ADDRESSING OTHER MATTERS AFFECTING THE PROFESSION. THE ORGANIZATION SENDS REPRESENTATIVES TO STATE BOARD MEETINGS IN ORDER TO KEEP ABREAST OF CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS AT THE STATE LEVEL AND BRING THIS INFORMATION BACK TO THE SAN DIEGO CHAPTER AS WELL AS REPRESENT THE SAN DIEGO CHAPTER AT THE STATE LEVEL. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO ENGINEERING STUDENTS.
