	StalkTalkStalkTalk is a biweekly newsletter published by the Missouri Corn Growers Association. Distributed in print and electronic versions, the publication is designed to educate and inform MCGA members on current issues impacting the corn industry as well as highlight association activities.

	Public PolicyThe goals for MCGA public policy for FY 2013 were to educate lawmakers about issues impacting corn farmers. Staff and monetary resources of MCGA public policy were used to work with other commodities to ensure livestock and row crop production remain viable in the state. To advance policy goals, a contractor is retained to work in the state Capitol, monitoring, reporting and influencing legislative issues that would impact corn farmers. MCGA also uses dinners and other events to build relationships with policy makers.

	MembershipMissouri Corn Growers Association, a farmer-member organization dedicated to increasing the profitability of corn production, increased membership in FY 2013 by 9.6%. Staff held approximately 11 membership events and presented at 66 membership educational events. To assist in increasing membership visibility and recognition to members and prospective members, MCGA purchased several giveaway items for promotions. In addition, member benefit items were purchased to disseminate out to renewed and new members. To assist in growing MCGA, approximately 23 mass mailings were conducted to advise members of events, renewal notices, call to action and new benefits. Additional timely mailings were sent to prospective members and informational brochures on MCGA and its benefits.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 7a	Form 990, Part VI, Line 7a: How Members or Shareholders Elect Governing Body	NOMINATION: The Association Nominating Committee shall nominate, previous to or in connection with the annual meeting of this Association, at least one willing candidate for each Director position by the Board of Directors. Representatives of each district shall certify the person(s) nominated by the representative's district to the Board of Directors. Additional nominations may be made from the floor. ELECTION AND TERM OF OFFICE: The Association shall consist of fourteen (14) Directors who are residents of the State of Missouri and meet the qualifications for producers. Association Directors shall be elected from each of the seven (7) districts within the State of Missouri. There shall be two (2) Directors elected from Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Association Directors shall serve for a term of three years or until their successors have been elected except as herein provided. The Board of Directors shall be elected by the members at the regular Annual Meeting.
