What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? To provide Safe Drinking Water to the Community of Deming WA. Summary from Articles of Incorporation: To associate its members together for their mutual benefit and to that end to construct, maintain, and operate a water system for the supply of water for domestic, livestock, garden, industrial, and commercial purposes. To conduct activities necessary but not limited to: acquisition of water by means of appropriation, drilling, pumping, spring collection, and/or purchase; operation, maintenance, repair and expansion of the water system.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 In 2013 the unincorporated community of Deming was provided water by the Deming Water Association. There were 49 members with a total of 89 connections served by the water system. 61 connections were residential, 28 were business connections made up of public organizations (church, daycares, post office, education facilities, dental clinic), commercial establishments (restaurant, service station and store), agricultural, and office spaces. Non-members from the public were also served through these business connections as they participated in or passed through the community. In 2013 a total of 38,977,045 gallons of water were captured from our spring source following Department of Health regulations. Of the captured gallons, 8,222,568 gallons of water were treated with Chlorine and ultra-violet radiation, distributed, and consumed through the connections of our members in accordance with Department of Health regulations. A water conservation goal of 25% reduction below 2005 base line consumption was set. We acheived a 42% reduction below 2005 baseline consumption.
