OUR YMCA WELCOMES ALL. WE STRENGTHEN COMMUNITIES, EDUCATE, AND NURTURE CHILDREN AND PROMOTE HEALTHY LIVING IN SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY. OUR STRATEGIC GOALS INCLUDE BUILDING DEVELOPMENT ASSETS IN YOUTH, FOSTERING DIVERSE LEADERSHIP AT ALL LEVELS, WELCOMING EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF INCOME, BUILDING AND MAINTAINING STRONG FACILITIES, PROVIDING QUALITY CHILDCARE PROGRAMS, DEVELOPING CHILDHOOD AND ADULT OBESITY PROGRAMS AND EXPANDING AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAMS. THIS IS BASED ON ARTICLE IV OF THE CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS OF THE ORGANIZATION, NOT LESS THAN SIXTEEN AND NOT MORE THAN 36 VOTING MEMBERS, BASED IN REPRESENTATIVE DIRECTORS AND AT-LARGE DIRECTORS. MEMBERS SHALL HAVE AND EXERCISE ALL POWERS NECESSARY TO CONTROL THE PROGRAMMING AND PERSONNEL OF THE NORTH SHORE YMCA IN ANY OF ITS DETAILS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS. THE MANAGEMENT OF THE NORTH SHORE YMCA ("NSY") SHALL BE VESTED IN A BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF NOT LESS THAN SIXTEEN NOT MORE THAN THIRTY-SIX MEMBERS. DIRECTORS SHALL BE EIGHTEEN YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AND SHALL SUBSCRIBE TO THE NSY STATEMENT OF PURPOSE CONTAINED IN ARTICLE 1, SECTION 2. ELECTION OF MEMBERS SHALL BE BY TWO PROCEDURES: REPRESENTATIVE DIRECTORS DESIGNATED BY LOCAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND AT-LARGE DIRECTORS ELECTED ANUALLY BY VOTE OF THE QUALIFIED MEMBERS OF THE NSY. REPRESENTATIVE DIRECTORS AND AT-LARGE DIRECTORS SHALL HAVE THE SAME RIGHTS, DUTIES AND OBLIGATIONS, EXCEPT AS STATED IN THE BY-LAWS.
