NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS - VARIOUS EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR COVENANT NURSING SCHOOL STUDENTS AND CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATIONAL COURSES FOR WORKING NURSES. EACH YEAR MANY STUDENTS IN THE COVENANT SCHOOL OF NURSING ARE GRANTED SCHOLARSHIPS. EQUIPMENT FUND COVENANT HEALTH SYSTEM FOUNDATION WORKS TIRELESSLY TO RAISE FUNDS IN ORDER THAT PHYSICIANS, NURSES AND OTHER STAFF MEMBERS HAVE THE BEST EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE FOR THE NEEDS OF OUR PATIENTS. FUNDS RAISED SUPPLEMENT THE CAPITAL EQUIPMENT BUDGET OF THE HOSPITAL AND ALLOW FOR MORE EQUIPMENT TO BE PURCHASED IN ANY GIVEN YEAR. EXAMPLES OF EQUIPMENT PURCHASED THROUGH THE FOUNDATION DURING FY 13 INCLUDE: MOBILE MAMMOGRAPHY VEHICLE (CANCER CENTER), MEDICAL ONCOLOGY CLINIC RENOVATION (CANCER CENTER), CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION LAB (HEART AND VASCULAR INSTITUTE), RETINA CAMERA (CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL), EDGE ULTRASOUND SYSTEM (WOMEN'S & CHILDREN'S), AND MINI C-ARM XRAY UNIT (CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL).

THE EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION PROCESS AT ST. JOSEPH HEALTH SYSTEM IS ADMINISTERED BY A COMMITTEE OF INDEPENDENT TRUSTEES. THEY FOLLOW A BOARD-APPROVED CHARTER AND OVERALL EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY. THE CHARTER EMPOWERS THE SJHS BOARD WORKLIFE COMMITTEE TO ADMINISTER THE EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION PROGRAM AND PROCESS ON BEHALF OF THE FULL BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SJHS. OVERALL, THE PHILOSOPHY IS INTENDED TO REWARD A BROAD SPECTRUM OF HIGH ORGANIZATIONAL AND INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS, AS WELL AS THE RETENTION OF KEY MANAGEMENT TALENT. THE SJHS EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY DEFINES THE MARKET FOR ADMINISTERING COMPENSATION AS A COMPARABLE SET OF NOT-FOR-PROFIT HEALTH CARE DELIVERY SYSTEMS.
