    1 THE EARL & DORIS BAKKEN FOUNDATION DECIDED TO CLOSE THE NORTH HAWAII OUTCOMES PROJECT (NHOP) IN FEBRUARY 2013. WE CLOSED THE NHOP OFFICE IN WAIMEA AND CONTRIBUTED THE REMAINING FURNITURE AND EQUIPMENT TO OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN NORTH HAWAII. AT THIS TIME, WE HAVE NO PLANS TO OPEN OTHER PROGRAMS. THE OUTCOMES PROJECT AND OUR OTHER PROGRAMS HAVE MET THEIR OBJECTIVES. THE COMMUNITY HAS A MUCH STRONGER NON-PROFIT SECTOR AND SET OF NECESSARY SERVICES AT THIS TIME. WE DETERMINED THAT IT WAS NOT ESSENTIAL TO THE HEALTH OF OUR COMMUNITY TO CONTINUE OUR OPERATING FOUNDATION ACTIVITIES.
