THE ORGANIZATION WORKS IN DIRECT PARTNERSHIP WITH ROSE HILL ELEMENTARY TO PROVIDE AN ORGANIZED VOLUNTEER SUPPORT SYSTEM AS WELL AS FINANCIAL RESOURCES THAT ARE NOT OTHERWISE AVAILABLE DUE TO SEVERE BUDGET CONSTRAINTS AT THE DISTRICT, CITY, STATE AND FEDERAL LEVELS.

LAST YEAR, THE PTSA SUCCESSFULLY PROVIDED PROGRAMS THAT ENHANCED THE EDUCATION OF THE ROSE HILL ELEMENTARY STUDENTS. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS THAT INCLUDED: FOREIGN LANGUAGE (SPANISH, MANDARIN), ART, CHESS, YOGA, DRAMA, NATURE, CREATIVE WRITING, CARTOONING, COOKING, COMPUTER CODING, MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, AND MARTIAL ARTS. THE PTSA ALSO SUPPORTS ROSE HILL ELEMENTARY BY CONTRIBUTING FUNDING FOR FIELD TRIPS, ASSEMBLIES, CHOIR, EMERGENCY SUPPLIES, AND TEACHER SUPPLIES. DURING THE 2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR APPROXIMATELY 200 STUDENTS PARTICPATED IN AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES (INCLUDING CHILDREN ENROLLED IN MULTIPLE CLASSES DURING THE YEAR). EVENTS HELD OR SPONSORED INCLUDED CULTURAL NIGHT, MOVIE NIGHT, SCIENCE NIGHT, BACK TO SCHOOL BBQ, ART REFLECTIONS, READ-A-THON, ART DOCENT PROGRAM, MATH CHALLENGE, AND STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK.
