THE MISSION OF ALICE LLOYD COLLEGE IS TO PROVIDE MOUNTAIN STUDENTS A QUALITY CHARACTER-BASED EDUCATION, REGARDLESS OF THEIR FINANCIAL ABILITY, AND TO PREPARE THEM FOR LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE IN THE APPALACHIAN REGION. NO STUDENT HAS EVER BEEN TURNED AWAY BECAUSE OF AN INABILITY TO PAY.

FOR THE 2013-2014 FISCAL YEAR WHICH INCLUDED 34,798 IN MINORITY GRANTS. THE PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 2014 GRADUATING CLASS OF 96 STUDENTS, 32% HAD NO STUDENT LOAN DEBT, WHILE 68% HAD AN AVERAGE DEBT OF 11,181 WHILE ATTENDING ALICE LLOYD COLLEGE. THE ALC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT SUBMITTED A PROPOSAL TO ADOPT A SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM WHICH WAS APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL ON POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION AND SACS ACCREDITING AGENCY. THE PROGRAM IS BEING REVIEWED BY THE PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS BOARD. ALICE LLOYD COLLEGE'S SECONDARY EDUCATION TEACHER PREPARATION PROGRAM WAS RANKED 103RD NATIONALLY AND THE HIGHEST RANKED SECONDARY PROGRAM OF PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN KENTUCKY. THE ELEMENTARY PROGRAM AT ALC WAS RANKED 360TH NATIONALLY, THE THIRD HIGHEST OF ALL PRIVATE COLLEGES IN KENTUCKY.

ATHLETES ALONG WITH THE IMPACT CLUB ALSO PROVIDED CANNED FOOD TO SERVE NEEDY FAMILIES AND COLLECTED TOYS AND OTHER ITEMS TO PROVIDE CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR NEEDY CHILDREN. PHI BETA LAMBDA (PBL) SPONSORED A BREAST CANCER AWARENESS CONVOCATION AND WALK TO SUPPORT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS. THE EVENT RAISED FUNDS FOR THE SUSAN G. KOMEN FUND. PBL ALSO DONATED ITEMS FOR THE LOCAL VETERANS CENTER AND SERVED FOOD TO NEEDY FAMILIES AS PART OF KENNY'S KIDS. PBL ALSO PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR THE MARCH OF DIMES.
