| Education Summit | Form 990, Part III, Line 2 Our inaugural Education Summit focused on public and higher education issues pertinent to our states economic vitality. As the only statewide CEO-based public policy research organization in Texas, the TBLC is committed to engaging our business, community and legislative leaders on the critical issues that play a part in the future of our states economy. The Summit included speakers and panel discussions with national and state education experts promoting discussion of an education policy that is both responsible and results oriented. The Summit goal was to provide clear data and positive ideas on how to address increasing post-secondary success so that Texas will remain globally competitive. We discussed policy suggestions and reviewed practical policy reforms underway that address pathways to excellence in our K-12 system that lead to career and college readiness. With this readiness, our state must focus on increasing the number of Texans who receive a credential of value that provides them with opportunity to succeed.
