1	Briefly describe the organization’s mission or most significant activities: The purpose of the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police (the Association) shall be to promote the professional development of all executive and managerial personnel within duly constituted law enforcement agencies in the Commonwealth of Virginia; to encourage close cooperation of all law enforcement agencies in the prevention of crime, detection of crime and the apprehension of those responsible for the commission of crimes; to promote the highest standards of police profession through selection and training of law enforcement officers and generally strive for the highest degree of respect for law and order throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. The assets of the Association shall be dedicated to the purposes set out above; and none of the net earnings shall insure to the benefit, in whole or in part, of any private individual, association, or corporation.
