FUNDING WAS SECURED FOR NEW COMPUTER MANAGEMENT EQUIPMENT INCLUDING NEW SERVERS AND UPGRADING OF ALL AGENCY COMPUTER APPLICATIONS. FUNDING WAS SECURED FOR A NEW AGENCY-WIDE DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CALLED THERAP TO REPLACE OUR ALTA POINT SYSTEM. THIS NEW TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCE FOR THE AGENCY WILL ENHANCE RECORD ACCURACY AND FACILITATE THE SEAMLESS ADDITION OF NEW CLIENTS IN ALL PROGRAMS. A FEASIBILITY STUDY WAS COMPLETED BY SCOTT MIETCHEN WITH FRCI REGARDING LIFESTART VILLAGE EXPANSION. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT FSC HAS GOOD PROGRAMS, IS FINANCIALLY STABLE, HAS A DEDICATED STAFF AND PROVIDES NEEDED SERVICES. HOWEVER, THIS WOULD NOT BE A GOOD TIME TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THIS LARGE OF AN EXPANSION PROJECT, THOUGH CERTAINLY CAN AT A LATER DATE. FUNDING WAS SECURED FOR AN EXPANSION OF OUR WEST VALLEY CITY CRISIS NURSERY AND THAT IS NOW COMPLETED. OUR PARENT EDUCATION PROGRAM AUDIO VISUAL MATERIALS WERE RENEWED AND A DVD OF "CAN YOU HEAR ME" WAS DEVELOPED THROUGH FUNDS RECEIVED FROM CBCAP. A MAJOR RESURFACING OF OUR PARKING LOT WAS COMPLETED AT OUR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES IN TAYLORSVILLE THROUGH CDBG FUNDING. FUNDING WAS RECEIVED FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A VOCATIONAL ENHANCEMENT COMPONENT FOR LIFESTART VILLAGE RESIDENTS. WORKSHOPS, TESTING COACHING AND CONSULTATION HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED. CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE FOR THE NEEDY IN THE COMMUNITY WAS AT A MUCH HIGHER RATE THAN BEFORE. WE SERVED 742 INDIVIDUALS AND 149 FAMILIES WITH SUB FOR SANTA SERVICES. FSC BEGAN A NEW PROGRAM AS A LICENSED CHILD PLACING AGENCY IN WHICH WE MAY DO HOME STUDIES AND POST PLACEMENT EVALUATIONS FOR FAMILIES WANTING TO ADOPT A CHILD.
