30 Public Policy: The ACS Public Policy Committee provides the community with useful information to community based organizations in the areas of health and human services. Its overarching goal is to improve the community's ability to conduct analysis that addresses the needs of human service organizations throughout the County. The committee seeks input from all sectors represented by our membership in establishing policy priorities. The committee tracks legislation and informs members of legislation affecting their organization and/or clients, testifies on priority issues, and tracks/updates self-sufficiency indicators for use by members and elected officials. Conversations with elected officials are held annually to provide both members and elected officials with the opportunity to discuss issues of common concern.
