What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The Copper Corridor Economic Development Coalition fosters sustainable economic development which maintains the quality of life throughout the Copper Corridor region.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 -A total of 15 workshops have been delivered throughout the Copper Corridor to date.-Workshop topics include: Starting Your Own Business, Using Social Media to Market Your Business, Marketing, Customer Service, Startup Business Checklist.-Consulted with 10 individuals this quarter. Topics included: Marketing a non-profit, Starting a New Business, Securing Funding.-Made presentations to the following organizations to publicize our services: Superior Chamber of Commerce, Oracle Womens Network, Globe Chamber of Commerce, Kearny Womens Business Fair.-ADOT and the Town of Winkelman continue to cooperate with Bill Bolin and have begun to plan for an October installation of the Penny for your Thoughts sculpture in Winkelman. WLB Group (Engineering) and ADOT have been in direct communication in the delivery of the engineering specifications for the Winkelman Ore Cart and Kiosk. -Volunteers staffed the MVC at the Arizona Best Fest at the Arizona State Capitol to celebrate the Arizona Centennial, February 11 and 12. A conservative estimate of the visitors through the MVC is 3000 during the Best Fest. In addition to participating at the Best Fest the MVC was present at the Superior Home and Building Tour, the Centennial Celebration for the Asarco Smelter, Legends of Superior Eco-Tourism Fest and the 24th Annual Apache Leap Mining Festival.-CCEDC has taken the lead of organizing and promoting the San Pedro River Festival in Winkelman, AZ on May 3, 2014. Bird watching tours have been scheduled to accommodate 3 groups during that morning. The festival will involve local vendors. -CCEDC is also preparing for the upcoming Golf Tournament on June 21, 2014. This event is one of many fundraising events to assist any expenditures of the MVC. -CCEDC has established a working relationship with the Arizona Trail Association. The Arizona Trail and CCEDC MVC are looking at ways to partner to promote the AZ Trail as well as the communities of the Copper Corridor.-An Ad-Hoc committee has been established to further our branding and promotion efforts. The committee has work together and completed a new rack card and brochure designed for the Copper Corridor. All areas of the region are represented in the Ad-Hoc committee. -Project initiated as part of Arizona Commerce Authority grant to create Business Success Center. Fourth Quarter expenses are expected for updating and expanding the information compiled. The Knowledge Base (Businesses and Occupations) has continued to be updated and enhanced by the project Consultant. Included now are links to socio-economic date per community; CAAG 2010 Census per community; Sales Tax state, county, city and total; and the start of broadband status in the County and communities. The updates are made available to County Economic Development Professional Tim Kanavel as well as other interested parties seeking to aid the Copper Corridor. Links are offered through the BSC website. The Knowledge Base will be a valued instrument during the launch of the Arizona Rural Broadband Project, known as Digital Arizona Project. -The highlight of the 3rd quarter was signing the contract with the professional accounting firm of Devries CPAs of Tucson. They have extensive experience and expertise in accounting for nonprofit organizations and are maintaining our complex financial records. -A membership agreement is currently being prepared between the CCEDC and the Pinal Partnership. -CCEDC is in the process, along with the other Pinal and Gila County communities, assisting CAAGs CEDs report to EDA.
