For the entire fiscal year 2012, we appointed an independent contractor as the organization's interim executive director. During the course of fiscal year 2013, we transitioned management of the organization to a professional association management firm. During the course of this significant transition, not all association records were transferred over to the new entity. As a result, this significantly delayed our preparation of Form 990 for FY 2012. We had previously requested a filing extension, assuming we would meet the April 15, 2014 filing deadline. However, we needed more time to ensure completely accuracy of this filing.
