Staff attorneys provide free legal representation to indigent defendants facing execution or lengthy incarceration, and in cases involving constitutional or significant issues in the field of criminal justice. The center is located at the Northwestern University School of Law, where students can obtain litigation experience and academic credit by working on cases under the direction of Justice Center attorneys.The Center opened an office in New Orleans in November 2013.
