KABOODLE KITS- CHAPTER MEMBERS DISTRIBUTE PERSONAL HYGIENE KITS WITH THE OPERATION SCHOOL BELL PROGRAM, TO FAMILIES REFERRED BY LOCAL SHELTERS OR AGENCIES, TO THE COLUMBIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND THE BOONE COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING. WE PURCHASE HYGIENE ITEMS AND PACKAGE THEM TO BE DISTRIBUTED AS NEEDED. THIS YEAR WE PACKAGED 3,000 KITS,AT A COST OF 14,068. OVER THE PAST 20 YEARS, WE HAVE PURCHASED, PACKED AND DISTRIBUTED 21,882 HYGIENE KITS. OPERATION SHARE- SINCE 2009, THE CHAPTER SHARES OUR RESOURCES WITH OTHER MID-MISSOURI AGENCIES. IF AN ITEM IS DONATED TO US THAT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR OUR NEEDS, WE WORK TO FIND ANOTHER LOCAL AGENCY THAT CAN USE THE RESOURCE. PARENT PACKS- SINCE 1997, THE CHAPTER HAS PROVIDED AND LOANED, THROUGH THE DANIEL BOONE REGIONAL LIBRARY, ENGLISH AND SPANISH MATERIALS CONTAINING BOOKS ON PREGNANCY, FETAL DEVELOPMENT, CHILDBIRTH AND BABY NAMES, AN EXERCISE VIDEO, AND PRENATAL BROCHURES TO EXPECTANT PARENTS. TRUE NORTH- THE CHAPTER SUPPORTS VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE BY IMPROVING THEIR ENVIRONMENT AT THE SHELTER.
