    1 THE SYMI SYMPOSIUM 2013Working with the Papandreou Foundation, CFP continued to support the Symi Symposiums, where progressive ideas and policies can be presented, and connections could be made that strengthen the global progressive community.Now in its fifteenth year, Symi Symposiums attract progressive elected political leaders, NGO heads, academics and journalists from around the world. In 2013, more than 50 attended the four-day-long July session devoted to "The Political and Economic Future of Europe:Together or Alone". Panelists covered issues of the environment, wage inequality, race and gender, the role of NGOs in an era of diminished support from government, and a nuclear-weapons-free world. The participants came from more than two dozen countries, and select panels as well as some of the key papers presented were broadcast on the Internet at Symi.edu.CFP is looking for new funding partners in an attempt to expand attendance at the summer symposium, and to organize a series of 15,666
    2 MILLENIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS AND THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH2013 was the eighth year of CFP's work with the Episcopal Church USA. CFP director Richard Parker continued working with Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation to extend diocesean-level commitments to the UN's Millenium Development Goals, which aim to reduce global poverty levels by half over the next twenty years. Eight years ago, CFP and EGR successfully raised the MDG's to a central place in the Church's Social Gospel ministry, and won more than $15 million from the national church both for domestic organizing and applied fiELd work in poor countries, especially those that belong to the Anglican Communion.CFP once again in 2013 served as a crucial interlocutor between EGR and the Episcopal Church bureaucracy in New York,by providing economic policy advice and grass-roots training seminars to meet the MDG challange. EGR and CFP have so far established education and outreach programs in over 61 the 110 Episcopal dioceses in the US, 6,700
