This meeting provided a general education to the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. It promoted interactions among biotech and academic professionals.The theme of the BioPacific Conference 2014 wasInnovation through Collaboration and partnershiop". For the second year, we had CABS K. Fong Award in Life Sciences ceremony. In conjunction with the one day conference, we organized a workshop on business development skills and a one-on-one business partnering platform. This full-day event had over 500 professionals in various disciplines in the life science communities from across the Pacific Ocean. This was a great opportunity to not only learn about cutting-edge science and current trend in the life science industry but also network with life science professionals from both US and China.

Workshop and Symposium:Program Revenue: $17,262 Program Expenses: $15,684The organization's another major program service is to organize and host the workshops and symposiums for the life science with scientists, professionals and public as well. For the fiscal year ended 08/31/2014, as the examples, the major workshops and symposiums the organization organized are the following:-Large Molecule Drug Discovery and Development Overview and Case Study, Part III-The Road to Personalized Medicine: Science, Commercialization and Clinical Application-Entrepreneurship in Biotechnology - Opportunities and Challenges-Careers Beyond R & D in Biotech, Part ISeveral hundred people including scientists in the life science, professionals in various trainings, businesses in bio/pharmaceutical industries as well as public attended these workshops and symposiums.
Form 990-EZ, Part III - Line 30 Program Service Accomplishments
Special Social Events:Program Revenue: $11,032 Program Expenses: $9,717The organization is also organized special social events as the bridge to connect with professionals and industries crossed the country and world as well as the communities as the general public.In the fiscal year ended 08/31/2014, the organization organized a special summer delegation to China. The delegation visited several cities with biotech/biopharma communities and had in-depth interactions with local companies, scientific communities, and potential investors. The special delegation enhanced the communication and exchange between two countries' life science professionals and businesses.The organization was also organized its Summer BBQ Networking Picnic for the CABS members with their families and friends. This social event promoted the networking between the professionals in the life science as well as increased the interactions with the public for the awareness of the development of life science. Couple of hundred people were benefited from this particular event.
