	Create jobs and manage growth in the community by recruiting new employers to the area, working with existing employers and overall business development. The CEDC continues to work on a variety of projects and programs involving the public and private sector. Specific work performed during 2013 included business expansion and retention; monitoring legislative changes, workforce development and training, business development and marketing. The CEDC continues to work and collaborate with local public and private sector partners in the areas of infrastructure, building and planning, education and training and transportation. In 2013 the CEDC facilitated a county wide Economic Summit, held entrepreneurship and STEM training classes and welcomed AcTech to the City of Woodland, AIMMCO and American Paper Converting expansion in Woodland, Portland Recycling to the City of Longview, Temco grain elevator expansion at the Port of Kalama, NAP Steel expansion at the Port of Longview totaling over 100 new jobs to the area and over $200 million in capital investment.
