NEIGHBORWOODS WERE MADE A LITTLE GREENER THANKS TO 820 RNEIGHBORWOODS VOLUNTEERS AND PARTNERS WHO PLANTED 539 BOULEVARD TREES IN 2013. THIS CITY-WIDE LITTER CLEANUP PROGRAM IS COMPLETED DURING ONE WEEK IN APRIL. LBB ENJOYS PARTICIPATION ACROSS MANY SECTORS IN THE COMMUNITY INCLUDING SCHOOLS, SERVICE AND FAITH GROUPS, SCOUT TROOPS, BUSINESSES, AND OF COURSE, ROCHESTER NEIGHBORHOODS. IN 2013 OVER 3,000 NEIGHBORS HELPED IN THE "A LITTLE BIT BETTER" CAMPAIGN AND COLLECTED NEARLY 11 TONS OF WASTE.

IN 2013 WE HELPED TO ORGANIZE NEW NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS INCLUDING OAKSIDE TERRACE-PARKSIDE AND PROVIDING THE RNEIGHBORHOOD TOOLKIT AS A GUIDE. WE HELD A "WORKING WITH YOUR CITY FORUM" FOR NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERS, UPDATED OUR NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDELINES, HONORED OUTSTANDING NEIGHBORS AT THE OAKTOBERFEST NEIGHBOR AWARDS, PRESENTED AT THE NEIGHBORHOOD USA CONFERENCE, PROVIDED MEETING SIGNS FOR SEVERAL NEIGHBORHOODS AND WORKED TO PROVIDE RESOURCES FOR ROCHESTER NEIGHBORHOODS THROUGH ALL OF OUR PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS SUCH AS ROCHESTERFEST PARADE, NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AND THROUGH OUR WEBSITE RNEIGHBORS.ORG. RCOLORFUL CORNERS (EST. 2007): NOW IN ITS SEVENTH YEAR, RCOLORFUL CORNERS EMPOWERS ROCHESTER NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS TO WORK TOGETHER TO CREATE COLORFUL STREET MURALS, TRANSFORMING PUBLIC SPACE INTO NEIGHBORHOOD ASSETS. IN 2013, FOUR STREET MURALS WERE REPAINTED WITH THE HELP OF OVER 175 VOLUNTEERS, PARTNERS AND LOTS OF STREET PAINT. THIS YEAR WE WERE ASSISTED WITH LOCAL DONATIONS FROM SHERWIN WILLIAMS AND ROTARY.
