GHOST ROOKERIES IS NARRATED BY HARRISON FORD (EOWBF BOARD OF ADVISORS) AND FEATURES CONTENT FROM JIM MCCLINTOCK'S (EOWBF BOARD OF ADVISORS) BOOK, LOST ANTARCTICA: ADVENTURES IN A DISAPPEARING LAND. THE FOCUS OF THIS AND FUTURE VIDEOS IS ON THE USE OF STORY TO ENGAGE VIEWERS IN ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION ISSUES, AND TO DRAW VIEWERS TO THE WORK OF THE FOUNDATION.

IN NOVEMBER 2013, THE FOUNDATION COMPLETED A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH DUKE UNIVERSITY'S NICHOLAS SCHOOL OF THE ENVIRONMENT TO COLLABORATE TO ADVANCE THE CAUSE OF PRESERVING THE WORLD'S BIODIVERSITY THROUGH EDUCATION, RESEARCH, AND OUTREACH. COLLABORATIONS WILL TAKE THE FORM OF JOINT RESEARCH PROJECTS AND/OR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS THAT INVOLVE DUKE FACULTY AND STUDENTS AND FOUNDATION STAFF. THIS AGREEMENT WILL SUPPORT SEVERAL INITIATIVES THAT WILL HELP TO FUEL THE USE OF OUR NATIONAL PARKS AS CLASSROOMS AND RESEARCH LABORATORIES FOR BIODIVERSITY RESEARCH. THE FIRST OF THESE VIDEOS, RELEASED IN 2013 AND NARRATED BY THE ACTOR HARRISON FORD, WHO IS A MEMBER OF THE ORGANIZATION'S ADVISORY BOARD, CONVEYS THE STORY OF THE ADELIE PENGUIN, WHOSE HABITAT-AND THUS THE BIODIVERSITY OF ALL OF ANTARCTICA-IS BEING THREATENED BY REAL-TIME ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES. THE ORGANIZATION EXPECTS THAT THIS VIDEO AND THOSE THAT FOLLOW WILL BE SEEN BY MILLIONS OF ZOO AND AQUARIUM VISITORS.- IN 2014, THE FOUNDATION BECAME THE FISCAL SPONSOR FOR AND PARTNERED WITH THE MEMO PROJECT (A UK-BASED PROJECT TO BUILD A GLOBAL MONUMENT TO EXTINCT SPECIES). THE FOUNDATION HAS A PROGRESSIVE COMMUNICATION STRATEGY THAT INCLUDES WEBSITE, SOCIAL MEDIA AND MUSEUM-BASED ACCESS TO THE GORONGOSA-RELATED CONTENT.
