1b Guided Tours of the Museums of Progress,Transportation & Mill,Industry and Agriculture as well as the restored school house, country store, blacksmith shop & Saw Mill allow visitors to experience life in early Appalachia as well as the major inventions that changed the world. Thousands of visitors took guided tours of the Museum in 2013.
1c The Farm Zoo is made available for special events with small children allowing them to experience "hands-on" farm chores and to learn about the importance of animals on the farm.
1d In 2013 the Foundation hosted its popular "Way Back Weekends" at the Museum where visitors took part in Appalachian music, crafts and artistry including blacksmithing, weaving and pottery.
