Return Reference Explanation
Part IV, Line 2b: Hawkeye Tri-County's RECare program provides members with the ability to donate money through the Cooperative to help needy members pay their electric bills. The account is listed on the balance sheet as a liability.
Part X, Line 2: The Cooperative has evaluated whether it was necessary to recognize any benefit from uncertain tax positions in current open tax periods and determined that there are no material uncertainties within its filed tax returns. As of December 31, 2013 and 2012, the unrecognized tax benefit was zero. The Cooperative would recognize future accrued interest and penalties related to unrecognized tax benefits in income tax expense, if incurred. Generally, the Cooperative is no longer subject to Federal or state tax examinations by tax authorities for years before 2010.
