ANNUAL CONVENTION - This program provides MTA members with an opportunity for in-depth learning experiences, safety awards, and update on the association, and networking with other members. The conference included awards, an annual meeting, and the opportunity to network with other members. 2013's event included seminars such as: "What is Happening in the Trucking Industry at the National Level?," "New Federal Regulations Coming Your Way," "Driver Psychology 101," "Driver Health Programs That Work," "Driver Training & Driver Finishing Programs," "What the Affordable Health Care Act Means for Trucking," "Succession Planning," and "The Next Generation of Pre-Clearance Technology." There were approx. 250 attendees at the Fiscal year 2014 conference.

Trucks and Toys facilitates collection of toy donations to be delivered to various Minnesota charities.

Part X, Line 2: The Association is exempt from taxation as a nonprofit organization in accordance Code Section 501(c)(6) except for taxes on unrelated business income from sales of advertising. The Association adopted the recognition requirements for uncertain income tax positions as required by FASB ASC 740-10 (formerly known as FASB Interpretation No. 48, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes), with no cumulative effect adjustment required. Income tax benefits are recognized for income tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, only when it is determined that the income tax position will more-likely-than-not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. The Association has analyzed tax positions taken for filing with the Internal Revenue Service and the state jurisdiction where it operates. The Association believes that income tax filing positions will be sustained upon examination and does not anticipate any adjustments that would result in a material adverse effect on the Association's financial condition, results of operations, or cash flows. Accordingly, the Association has not recorded any reserves or related accruals for interest and penalties for uncertain income tax positions at June 30, 2014. The Association is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits in progress for any open tax periods. The Association's open audit periods are the years ended June 30, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
