AT SAID MEETING, THE AUDIT FIRM REVIEWS THE REPORT, THEN STAFF IS EXCUSED, FOLLOWED BY THE AUDIT FIRM. THE AUDIT COMMITTEE THEN DETERMINES WHETHER THE REPORT WILL BE ACCEPTED AND MAKES A RECOMMENDATION TO THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO BE RECEIVED AT ITS NEXT MEETING. THE AUDIT COMMITTEE DECIDES WHETHER OR NOT TO RETAIN THE FIRM FOR THE NEXT CYCLE AT THE AUDIT REVIEW MEETING.

THE ZOO SOCIETY WAS FOUNDED IN 1957 AND IS GOVERNED BY A 62-MEMBER BOARD OF TRUSTEES. CURRENT SIGNATURE INITIATIVES INCLUDE: "WE CARE FOR PEOPLE," WHICH PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS AND STRENGTHENS STUDENT READINESS FOR STEM CAREERS; "WE CARE FOR ANIMALS," WHICH SUPPORTS VETERINARY AND WELLNESS PROJECTS AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION TO HELP THE ZOO MEET A RANGE OF IMPORTANT ANIMAL CARE NEEDS; AND "WE CARE FOR THE PLANET," WHICH CONNECTS THE ZOO WITH CONSERVATION PROGRAMS AROUND THE GLOBE, WITH SIGNIFICANT SUPPORT PROVIDED TO PARTNERS IN ASIA, AFRICA AND THE AMERICAS. NO MATTER HOW YOU ENJOY THE ZOO, MANY OF THE ZOO AND ZOO SOCIETY'S PROGRAMS WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE SUPPORT OF OUR GENEROUS COMMUNITY.
