	"Strong Start" for mothers and newborns initiative is an effort by the Department of Health and Human Services which aims to reduce preterm births and improve outcomes for newborns and pregnant woman. This is a four-year initiative to test and evaluate enhanced prenatal care interventions for woman enrolled in Medicaid or CHIP. AABC, along with its network of birth centers, is given a funding opportunity to test the effectiveness of specific enhanced prenatal care approaches.
