Form 990, Part III, Line 1, Description of Organization Mission:
In 2013, we trained over 33,708 health workers (12, 889 are women). We work with policymakers, health professionals, and health care consumers to improve the quality, availability and affordability of health services toward our vision of a world where everyone has the opportunity for a healthy life. We partner with governments, donors, nongovernmental organizations, the private sector, and health agencies on some of global health's biggest challenges, such as maternal and child health, chronic diseases, HIV & AIDS and TB, malaria and other communicable diseases, and family planning. Through strengthening capacity, investing in health systems innovation, building the evidence base, and advocating for sound public health policy, MSH is committed to making a lasting difference in global health. For more information, visit www.msh.org

While working to address a country's short-term pharmaceutical management needs, SIAPS uses a systems-strengthening approach to bolster the system as a whole which facilitates local ownership and enables lasting change. The SIAPS program is funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). For more information, visit http://siapsprogram.org

In Ethiopia, LMG assisted in operationalizing the Federal Ministry of Health's Gender Directorate with 14 regional offices by developing a Gender Equity Manual and Training Program. The LMG project fosters country ownership, gender equity, and evidence-driven approaches. In the past year alone, 9 local, national, or regional organizations in 6 countries have institutionalized LMG's tools, models, or approaches-those benefitting include academic institutions, civil service organizations, government agencies, and public and private health facilities. The LMG Project is funded by USAID's Bureau for Global Health's Office of Population and Reproductive Health and Office of HIV/AIDS, and the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance.
