What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Promote fairer public policies for low-income Alabamians.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 Arise advocated for bills to establish a single database to track payday loans, to cap interest rates on auto title loans, to restore eligibility for SNAP nutrition benefits to people who have served their time for a felony drug conviction, and to help more people keep their homes after bankruptcy. Arise also helped amend punitive welfare bills to make them less harmful and worked with partners to derail a bill that would have rushed death penalty appeals.
