7	The sole activity of the Rev. Joseph McGarry Memorial Scholarship Trust as stated in the Trust Agreement is to provide annual scholarships to students at Providence College, of Providence, Rhode Island, who are studying for the Catholic priesthood or who are ordained Catholic Priests seeking graduate degrees related to the vocation or furthering education to better serve the Roman Catholic Church. The scholarship trust was set up in memory of the late Rev. Joseph McGarry, a Catholic priest from the Archdiocese of Hartford Connecticut and a Providence College Alumnus. The amount of the annual scholarships distributed directly to Providence College for qualifying students shall be no more than six and one-half percent of the average trusts market value, as determined by the trustees. A student shall receive preference over others if recommended by the Archdiocese of Hartford, Connecticut, the Diocese of Norwich, Connecticut, and the Diocese of Providence, Rhode Island, in that order.
