28 THE VALLEY SPOKESMEN HOSTED THE 38TH ANNUAL CINDERELLA CLASSIC WHICH IS A "WOMEN ONLY" SINGLE DAY CYCLING EVENT OFFERING A 65 AND 95 MILE OPTIONS. THE CINDERELLA CLASSIC HAS BECOME WHAT IS ARGUABLY THE PREMIER "WOMEN'S ONLY" CYCLING EVENT IN THE COUNTRY PROMOTING THE SPORT OF CYCLING TO WOMEN OF ALL AGES. THIS IS A TOTALLY "SUPPORTED" RIDE WITH FULLY STOCKED NUTRITION AND HYDRATION REST STOPS, ROVING SAG SUPPORT AND POST RIDE BANQUET. A SIZEABLE PORTION THE REGISTRATION FEES ARE DISTRIBUTED TO SUPPORT LOCAL WOMEN'S NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. THE 2014 CINDERELLA CLASSIC AND CHALLENGE DREW 2224 REGISTRANTS WITH 1867 RIDING PARTICIPANTS REPRESENTING TWELVE STATES, 252 CITIES AND THE EXPO FEATURED 40+ EXHIBITORS. IT TOOK 174 VOLUNTEERS TO SUPPORT THIS SUCCESSFUL EVENT.

30 IN 2014 THE VALLEY SPOKESMEN HAD A TOTAL CLUB MEMBERSHIP OF 579. THE CLUB HOSTED 739 ORGANIZED RIDES WHERE CLUB MEMBERS ACCUMULATED 262,381 TOTAL MILES. THIS REPRESENTS A GROWTH OF 19% IN MEMBERSHIP, 14.5% IN RIDES AND 6.8% IN MILES OVER 2013. A NEWSLETTER WAS PUBLISHED AND DISTRIBUTED MOTHLY TO THE MEMBERSHIP AND LOCAL BIKE SHOPS PROMOTING THE SPORT OF CYCLING, BIKE SAFETY, THE UPCOMING RIDE SCHEDULE AND LOCAL CYCLING ISSUES AND EVENTS. THE NEWSLETTER AND RIDE SCHEDULE WAS ALSO AVAILABLE OVER THE INTERNET ON THE CLUB WEB SITE AT WWW.VALLEYSPOKESMEN.ORG. THE WEB SITE IS AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND PROVIDES EASY ACCESS TO A WIDE RANGE OF CLUB INFORMATION AND ADDITIONAL CYCLING RELATED RESOURCES.
