Briefly describe the organization’s mission: The Westfield Fire Department is dedicated to protecting and serving our entire community with a commitment to professionalism and performance excellence. The Department was organized in 1942 and incorporated in 1992. The Department provides emergency services under contract by Harris County Emergency Services District #25 ("ESD"), who provides funding for for the Departments operating and capital expenditures. Funding is provided pursuant to an approved annual budget of operating and capital expenditures and monthly reports of amounts advanced by the ESD and amounts actually paid by the Department, and related requests for reimbursement. The Department also receives revenue from amounts billed for responses to fire alarms and non-medical emergency services provided.

	Provide fire suppression and emergency services under contract by and within the boundaries of the Harris County Emergency Services District #25.On average, the Department responds to 130-150 incidents per month.The Department operates two fire stations staffed by both paid and volunteer personnel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This assures a quick response time no matter the time of day.

	During 2014, Westfield Fire Department enhanced its firefighter training program by implementing an online training program designed by the command staff. This e-learning platform not only makes training more readily available to firefighters, but is also used to increase communications amongst the agency.

	The Westfield Fire Department began identifying target hazards within its response territory and conducting pre-plans of these hazards. The pre-plans were then entered into the computer system at our communications center as well as our reporting system, so that information regarding the business is readily and easily available to responding crews. By doing this, it increases firefighter and citizen safety.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a	The Department's Members elect the Board of Directors from among it's Membership, as follows: Three (3) positions will be elected in January of even numbered years, and will start their terms on the date of election. These three (3) positions will be open to Active Volunteer members. Two (2) positions will be elected in January of odd numbered years, and will start their terms on the date of election. These two (2) positions will be open to paid Duty Crew members.

Prior period adjustment	As a result of audits of this organization and Harris County Emergency Services District #25, it was determined that all fire fighting equipment and improvements to the main firehouse (with a combined original cost of $2,720,533 and accumulated depreciation of $814,774) and related notes payable of $966,146 that were previously recorded on the books of this organization were actually assets owned by and debts of Harris County Emergency Services District #25. Accordingly, a prior perid adjustment has been recorded to transfer these assets and liability to Harris County Emergency Services District #25, resulting in a reduction in net assets of $939,613.
