Part I, Line 1 - Organization's Mission or Most Significant Activities
Our mission is to connect newly-arrived individuals from around the world with economic opportunities. We serve as a centralized employment and referral center for the region's growing immigrant community and to promote immigrant participation in the region's political, social and economic life.

Program Service Accomplishments The Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians is a nonprofit economic development organization providing a range of smleall business, employment, and adult education services to legally work-authorized immigrant and American-born individuals. In FY 2014, our accomplishments included: - More than 100 consultations provided through our monthly Legal Clinics - Over 250 existing or aspiring small business owners served through our Small Business Development program, including 300 subscribers to our monthly Opportunity Calls multilingual telephone announcements - More than 300 work-authorized immigrants provided with employment related services, such as career counseling, job training and direct job placement - More than 185 students served through our Vocational Literacy English for Speakers of Other Languages, civics, and GED classes - Received national funding to initiate a program for skilled immigrant professionals - Over 450 requests for information and referral answered - More than 1,200 corporate leaders, employers, parishioners, and members of the public reached via public events, conference presentations, and workshops - Numerous publications and data snapshots produced for the general public on topics pertaining to immigration and the economy - More than 65 research, journalism and related requests for interview/expertise completed - More than 35 e-bulletins published on topics from immigration policy to demographics to news bulletins. Our e-bulletins are sent to a list of more than 6,000 subscribers.

Board members are asked annually to sign a disclosure statement regarding any potential conflicts. The Executive Director monitors copmliance with the conflicts policy on a regular basis.

The compensation process for the Executive Director includes a review and approval by independent persons, comparability data and contemporaneous substantiation of the deliberation and decision. There are no othoer officers or key employees as defined by the IRC.
