What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The Ouachita River Correctional Unit is a prison operated by the Arkansas Department of Correction. The prision is actually a prison farm and is located in a rural area of the state. Most of the correctional officers work twelve hour shifts. The employees are on duty during the twelve hour shifts and are not alloed to leave the prison. The Ouachita River Correctional Unit Employee's was oranized in part to promote goodwill among employees and to increase employee morale. These goals were to be met by operating vending machines for use by the employees. Given the location of the job site and the nature of the job, the availability of vending machines for the employees contributed importantly in increasing staff morale. Also funds derived from the vending machines allowed the Employee Corporation to sponsor social, recreation and athletic activities for all employees and their families to further promote goodwill & morale.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 The Ouachita River Correctional Unit Employees Corporation was organized to promote goodwill among employees and to increase employee morale. These goals were met by operating vending machines for use by the employees. Given the location of the job site and the nature of the job, the availability of vending machines for the employees contributed importantly in increasing staff morale. Also the funds derived from the vending machines allowed the Employee Coporation to sponsor quarterly appreciation lunches, an annual picnic, Employee's Awards, a fishing derby &a Christmas party for all employees and their families to further promote goodwill & morale. The funds allowed the Ouachita River Correctional Unit Employees Corporation to provide supplies for the barber shop, shoe shine shop, and car wash facility available for employee use.
