Briefly describe the organization’s mission: The mission of the AANMC is to enhance the individual and collective success of member organizations in delivering high quality, innovative, and accessible naturopathic medical education and research. The AANMC advocates for:- An outcomes-based, challenging, humane, and holistic medical education experience.- Public awareness and support of Naturopathic Medical Education.- Naturopathic medicine research that improves the knowledge about and the teaching/practice of naturopathic medicine.- Provision of high quality clinical training through health services in the community.

The major programmatic initiatives for 2014 revolved around promoting naturopathic medical education and fostering growth of naturopathic medical education between and among the member institutions. These goals were accomplished through website redesign/website hosting, educational webinars and promotion of these events, as well as creation and promotion of the first cohesive competency document for naturopathic clinical education.Website redesign initiated in 2013, continued through 2014, and focused on creating a more up-to-date platform to educate the public on naturopathic medical education. In addition to consultant costs, staff time was dedicated to updating and creating content as well as reviewing consultant work. Approximately $30,000 of the budget supported website redesign efforts.Educational webinars foster the AANMC mission by enhancing and supporting the success of member institutions and promoting public awareness for naturopathic medical education. Approximately $290,000 of the budget supported these efforts.Clinical competency creation helps the member institutions continue to provide high quality clinical education by defining baseline expectations for graduates of accredited naturopathic medical programs. Approximately $20,000 of the budget went to support this process in addition to significant staff time and resources. This document was completed in August of 2014 and voted on by the Board in October of 2014. Additionally faculty training and salary data was collected by AANMC to promote better hiring practices and faculty development for our member schools.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 1 There shall be an Executive Committee, consisting of the President, the Vice-President-Secretary and the Treasurer. During the intervals, between meetings of the Board, the Executive Committee shall have all the powers vested in the Board, except the power or authority to elect, appoint or remove officers and Directors or to amend or repeal the Certificate or these Bylaws. A majority of the members of the Executive Committee shall constitute a quorum. The Executive Committee shall keep minutes of its meetings to record actions taken by it and shall report its actions to the Board at the meeting thereof held next after taking such action. Unless waived, members of the Executive Committee shall be given two (2) days advance written notice of the agenda for the meeting.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 4 The organization is in the process of applying for tax exempt status under IRC 501(c)(3), and in preparation of its change in tax exempt status, has amended Article 2 of its ByLaws as follows: ARTICLE 2-PURPOSE OF THE ASSOCIATION The Association is organized and shall be operated exclusively for tax-exempt purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 or corresponding future provisions of the Federal tax laws (hereinafter referred to as the "Code"). In furtherance of such purposes, the Association shall be authorized to promote, support and engage in activities, carried on for charitable, scientific or educational purposes, including, but not limited to, advancing, promoting and assisting its member schools and colleges of naturopathic medicine for the purposes of (1) fostering and promoting the advancement of naturopathic medical education; (2) improving the quality of operations, education, research and patient care, within the Association's member schools and colleges; (3) fostering collaboration among the Association's member schools and colleges and between the Association and compatible professional medical organizations; (4) publishing and exchanging information of general interest, with respect to naturopathic medical education and naturopathic medicine, to the Association's member schools and colleges; (5) providing or granting scholarships, loans or other assistance to men and women of promise in naturopathic medicine; (6) encouraging and providing funds for research, public service and teaching in naturopathic medicine; (7) developing and increasing better and broader naturopathic medical education opportunities; (8) aiding and assisting in the development, maintenance, promotion, growth and preservation of the naturopathic medical profession; (9) educating governmental agencies; philanthropic, higher education, research and healthcare organizations; industry; and the general public about the Association's member schools and colleges and the practice of naturopathic medicine; (10) engaging in such other activities, as may be necessary and proper, to accomplish the aforesaid purposes, including the raising of funds through grants, gifts, devises, bequests or otherwise and (11) conducting any lawful business and any lawful act or activity consistent with Federal and state antitrust statutes and permitted by Federal and Delaware law governing nonprofit corporations, exempt from taxation pursuant to the Code (the "Association Purposes").
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6 Three classes of membership: (1) Member Institutions; (2) Associate Members; and (3) additional class or classes, which the Board of Directors (the "Board") may, from time to time, establish. Member Institutions: A school or college of naturopathic medicine, which is accredited or is a candidate for accreditation, by an accrediting body recognized by the Board. Associate Membership: Any individual or organization, having a bona fide interest in the Association and in advancing the Association Purposes and having a commonality of interests with Member Institutions of the Association and which is otherwise ineligible to become a Member Institution.
