    Summary of Direct Charitable Activities
    List the foundation’s four largest direct charitable activities during the tax year. Include relevant statistical information such as the number of organizations and other beneficiaries served, conferences convened, research papers produced, etc. Expenses
    1 State Board of Contractors Grant - The Mississippi Construction Education Foundation was specifically mentioned in Mississippi law when the construction education fund [CHB260] was enacted to work with all high school Career and Technical Education programs in the state. This is the largest part of funding for the foundation. MCEF provides documentation of skills for all Career and Technical students involved in construction training at no cost to the schools or students. 4475 students from 178 programs from 106 different schools received transcripts and certificates from the National Center for Construction Education and Research [NCCER] to document skill earned. MCEF staff visited each Career Center 2-3 times per year and supported these instructors. This is a huge investment in staff time and mileage. Grant was $731,008 and the total amount was used for secondary programs. 731,008
    2 Apprenticeship Training - MCEF conducts registered apprenticeship training for Mississippi contractors. Apprenticeship is designed for full-time employees that attend classes one night per week. Classes are held at local community colleges across the state. Training is held for electricians, carpenters, plumbers, heating and air, and sheet metal workers. Training takes place on the school year basis. There were 180 participants in 2013-2014 with income of $180,335 and direct expenses of $123,243. 123,243
    3 Assessment Testing - MCEF is an accredited assessment center for the National Center for Construction Education and Research [NCCER]. The center has developed national assessment for skills of construction workers. Many employers require passing of these tests to enter a job site.
