Return Reference	Explanation
Part X, Line 2:	The Colorado AFL-CIO is considered exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(5) of the Internal Revenue Code. Accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America require management to evaluate tax positions taken by the Council and recognize a tax liability (or asset) if the Colorado AFL-CIO has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the Internal Revenue Service. Based on this review, no reserves for uncertain tax positions were required to have been recorded or disclosed for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2014. The Colorado AFL-CIO is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. With few exceptions, the Council is no longer subject to income tax examinations for fiscal years preceding June 30, 2010.
