Briefly describe the organization’s mission: Our mission is to support transportation alternatives that improve the quality of life for people in communities large and small, urban, suburban and rural. MPTA speaks out for transit systems and transit riders across the State of Minnesota and advocates for high-quality transit service that is accessible and available to everyone.

	MPTA hosted the annual Minnesota Public Transit Conference in Saint Paul, MN This event provided an open exchange of ideas and information among transit providers across Minnesota. Breakout sessions and seminars gave attendees access to ideas and techniques to improve their operations. Typical attendees were employees and managers of public transit systems in Minnesota. The event helps these systems better manage the public benefit of the transit they provide.

	MPTA advocated for the cause of transit. The organization worked with local media to publicize the benefits of public transit. Ongoing outreach and advocacy efforts keep the cause of public transit relevant and important to policy makers and transit riders in Minnesota. Just as transit benefits the public, so does this MPTA activity.

	MPTA co-sponsored its annual Minnesota Roadeo event. The Roadeo is a continuing education event for drivers of public transit busses. Events include training and competitions in bus handling. The general public benefits from drivers who operate at an improved level of skill. The co-sponsor is the MN Dept of Transportations' Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP).
