28 VFW Post 3617 provided free veteran and active military assistance with VA claims & services, emergency financial assistance, transportation to medical facilities, patriotism and character development to primary and secondary school students, continuing education scholarships to high school and Junior College students, honor guard details to veteran funeral services, flag color guard details to civic functions, and US flag donations to private individuals, public facilities and commercial businesses.
