| Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15: | ACC regularly reviews compensation surveys of other similar organizations to determine "market" rates for same/ or similar functions and positions. This applies to all full-time and part-time employees. Only the CEO's annual compensation, including any performance awards, is reviewed and approved by the Board of Trustees. Compensation paid to ACC and ACCF members, including Board of Trustees officers, is governed by a Member Compensation Policy that incorporates IRS requirements for independent review, establishing comparability of compensation with other, similar positions and/or market rates and the documenting of deliberations and outcomes. Compensation for almost all member-filled positions is based on an average hourly rate for cardiologists, as published from an independent source, and the expected annual hourly time commitment. In some instances, the compensation amount is decided by using the market compensation for similar, comparable positions. Compensation for all member held positions are reviewed by an independent (non-compensated) member-only Compensation Committee to ensure compliance with IRS requirements. This process is applied to Board of Trustee officer positions (i.e. President, President Elect, Immediate Past President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary/ Board of Governors (BOG) Chair, BOG Chair Elect and Immediate Past BOG Chair) periodically. Compensation for all other member-filled positions is reviewed with executive committee periodically. |
