Lending is, and will continue to be, an integral factor in the success of Superior Savings Credit Union; therefore, in order to fulfill this mission, all employees are expected to promote the credit union as a primary source of borrowing to all members through their actions, words, and deeds.

	Member Loans - The Credit Union strives to provide its members with financial flexibility and encourage savings with various types of loans in the following categories: Automobile loans, Mortgage loans, Share-secured loans, Home Improvement loans, Personal loans, and other various types. As of year end, the Credit Union had approximately 1,508 loans outstanding.

	Depository Accounts - The Credit Union strives to provide its members with financial flexibility and encourage savings with various types of depository accounts. The Credit Union currently offers depository accounts in varieties such as draft accounts, checking accounts, savings accounts, certificate of deposit accounts, individual retirement accounts, Christmas club accounts, and other various types. As of the year end, the there were approximately 4,178 depository accounts held at the Credit Union.

Part X : FIN48 Footnote	Effective January 1, 2009, generally accepted accounting principles require the organization to evaluate the level of uncertainty related to whether tax positions taken will be sustained upon examination. Any positions taken that do not meet the more-likely-than-not threshold must be quantified and recorded as a liability for unrecognized tax benefits in the accompanying balance sheet along with any associated interest and penalties that would be payable to the taxing authorities upon examination. Interest and penalties associated with unrecognized tax benefits would be classified as additional income taxes in the statement of income. Effective January 1, 2009, generally accepted accounting principles require the organization to evaluate the level of uncertainty related to whether tax positions taken will be sustained upon examination.
