Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line Primary Exempt Purpose	Professional Trade Organization NUCAs mission is to promote the underground utility industry by providing safety training, continuing education, legislative relations, networking opportunities and scholarships.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 28	The Organization sponsors training seminars and monthly meetings which are designed to update members on safer and more efficient construction methods and also on new regulatory requirements of the industry. The organization also has several dinner meetings in which it invites state and local legislators so that the membership can meet their representatives.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 29	The organization has a golf tournament and a fishing tournament annually for corporate members, suppliers, their customers, clients, employees, friends of the industry and potential members. The purpose of these events is to provide networking opportunities and promote camaraderie among members.

A committee selects the recipients of the scholarships based on a nondiscriminatory written policy. Candidates for the scholarships are selected based on both their academiv and their financial need.
