Explanation:
Following is our explanation of the late filing of the 2013 Form 990.What prevented the Mt. Baker Community Club from filing a timely return.: During 2014 Mt. Baker Community Club made the decision to file the Form 990 internally, unfortunately they were not able to complete the return timely and required the assistance of a CPA. By the time the outside CPA was engaged the return was already late. How Mt. Baker Community Club was not neglectful or careless, but exercised ordinary business care and prudence: Mt. Baker Community Club thought that the internal person had the information to prepare that return and was filing the return. There was confusion due to the fact that an outside CPA had prepared the return in the past. This was not neglectful or careless on Mt. Baker Community Club's part, the lack of communication was just an administrative error. What steps have been taken to prevent the same situation from occurring in the future: The Mt. Baker Community Club does not anticipate changing outside accountants in the future and the new accountants have systems in place for all existing organizations to insure that extensions are filed timely. We hereby respectfully request that all late filing penalties be abated for Mt. Baker Community Club's 2013 Form 990.
