What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market (NEFM), notably the first community-based farmers markets in the city, is a non-profit organization that was started in 1999 as a gathering place to raise funds and community support for the Eastside Food Co-op (EFC). The market was designed to be a way for the co-op to help build relationships with growers, meat producers, and neighborhood associations and organizations.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 The Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market provides a safe, accessible and friendly environment for the community to conduct commerce and encourage a socialization alternative. The market promotes the sale of locally grown and produced fresh foods, unique gifts and unusual services otherwise neglected by the mainstream businesses. We enhance the livability of the neighborhood and foster sustainability in the Northeast community.
