The Association also administers certain cooperative advertising programs in conjunction with its members and in furtherance of its purposes to improve the quality of art dealings in the United States. All costs of these programs are borne by the individual members, not by the Association. The Association also expresses its views to various legislators on matters affecting art dealers,including bills involving the rights of artists to certain copyright royalties and the practices of auction houses.

The Association also expresses its views to various legislators on matters affecting art dealers,including bills involving the rights of artists to certain copyright royalties and the practices of auction houses.Many members' of the New York arts community gallery spaces and works of art were destroyed by the ravages of Super Storm Sandy. As part of its primary mission, the Association has established a fund in order to ensure that the those victims of the storm would recover from its ravages and be able to remain in business and carry on the stated purpose of the Art Dealers Association. The remainder of donations have been retained to provide similar aid in the event of future disasters.
