Briefly describe the organization’s mission: The Bering Sea Crab Cooperative takes such actions as may be necessary to permit IFQ crab to be harvested by the Cooperative's members in accordance with applicable law; reports, on an annual basis, the Cooperative's members' harvesting activities; and generally exercises the powers of an Alaska cooperative corporation conducive to its purposes, subject to the limitations imposed by the provisions of the Alaska Cooperative Corporation Act and the Cooperative's Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.

	The Bering Sea Crab Cooperative (TBSCC) requires members to report their catch on a contemporaneous basis. TBSCC monitors the members' catch to determine that the catch complies with the Cooperative IFQ permit. TBSCC assists members with complying with their individual IFQ compliance issues.This benefits the members by having TBSCC process the paperwork for compliance. The NMFS also benefits because TBSCC monitors compliance which reduces the NMFS's paperwork and compliance efforts.TBSCC monitors transfers of quota shares among members. This benefits members and the NMFS in that TBSCC is able to provide current membership and IFQ ownership data.TBSCC computes and distributes funds to members, so that each member receives the same amount per pound.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 4: Description of Significant Changes to Organizational Documents	The bylaws simplified and broadened the Cooperative's purpose to state that the Cooperative has been formed to exercise the powers of an AlaskaCooperative Corporation Act (AS 10.15.005 et seq.) corporation conducive to its purposes,subject to the limitations imposed by the Fishermen's Collective Marketing Act, 15 U.S.C. 521 et seq. (FCMA),the Bylaws, and the Cooperatives Articles of Incorporation.The membership structure in the bylaws was changed. Members are described in Part VI, Section A question 6.Section 3.3, Suspension for Cause was simplified to state a Member's membership in the Cooperative may be suspended or terminated for engaging in conduct that the Cooperatives Board of Directors determines is not in the Cooperatives best interests.Article 5 Section 9.2 provides that officers shall be elected annually. Prior to the change, officers were elected for a term of three years.Article 6 section 2 removed the requirement that at least one seat on the Board of Directors be occupied by a member who holds catcher-vessel or catcher-processor crew quota shares if any member holds such shares.Article 16 regarding distribution of assets upon dissolution was deleted.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 6: Explanation of Classes of Members or Shareholder	A person is eligible to become a member of the Cooperative (a Member) if such person: (i) is a fishermanwithin the meaning of the FCMA, 15 U.S.C. 521-522; (ii) has been admitted as a member of Inter-Cooperative Exchange (ICE); and (iii) pays such initiation fee as the Cooperative may adopt from time to time. A person that demonstrates his, her or its eligibility to be a Member shall be admitted upon the affirmative vote of at least seventy-five percent (75%) of the Board of Directors.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 12c: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts	Whenever there is reason to believe that a potential conflict of interest exists between The Bering Sea Crab Cooperative Board members or the Manager, the Board shall determine the appropriate response. The designated reviewing official has a responsibility to bring a potential conflict of interest to the attention of the Board for action at the next regular meeting of the Board or during a special meeting called specifically to review the potential conflict of interest. The Bering Sea Crab Cooperative shall refrain from acting until such time as the proposed action, policy, or transaction has been approved by the disinterested members of the Board.Whenever there is reason to believe that a potential conflict of interest exists between The Bering Sea Crab Cooperative and an employee, the Manager shall determine the appropriate response. The Manager shall report to the Board President the results of any review and the action taken. The President shall determine whether any further Board review or action is required.
